Copenhagen + Stockholm

~ What a time, to write a blog. Another note, a travelogue. ~

It’s been a while since I recapped my European adventures and as I’m in the midst of procrastinating—I mean preparing—for my last final exam, I figured I’d recount the last two stops I made during my break.

Copenhagen, Denmark was a blast! (Do people still say that?) I spent my time celebrating a friend’s 21st birthday and submerged myself into the city’s culture. However, while I was there, for some reason I spent many bills and racked up a fair amount of Danish kroners in coins. Upon my arrival in Manchester, I was informed that I was only allowed to exchange bills for GBP. I guess I’ll keep that in mind the next time I Euro Trip (and keep the kroners in case I visit Denmark again).

My last stop was in Stockholm, Sweden. I had the pleasure of staying with a friend whose family so graciously opened up their household to me and mutual friends. We explored by daytime and when night came, well, need I say more? Aside from three drinks spilling back-to-back at pres (oh dear gravity) we successfully made it out and headed to a club in the city. I must say, I felt as if I was with a local celebrity as my friend’s hand was grasped and she was led onto the stage for the littest turn up one could expect. My friends and I cheered and shouted her name as she danced with the DJs on stage and we danced in the crowd to the electrifying music.

All was well until *POP!* While everyone in the club was dancing, someone started blowing big bubbles out of nowhere. It was a pretty sight…until one popped in my eye. Sounds harmless, right? Nah fam. It burned like a…*keeps the blog PG.* I tried to keep my cool until I couldn’t any longer and finally went to the restroom. In a frenzy, I took my contact out and handed it to my friend as I splashed my eye with water. No luck for relief. Long story short, I didn’t put it back in and ending up taking the other one out too because my other eye was also bothered. For the rest of the night I danced blind as a bat and of course my friends helped me maneuver my way back. Thank God I brought my glasses or the next day would have been a blur, ha! I enjoyed a splendid breakfast…and Max (dare I say better than McDs)…and IKEA (because…did you really visit Sweden if you didn’t eat the meatballs?). Talk about 3 meals in 5 hours FTW! All in all, I was just happy to spend quality time with quality friends who are sweeter than Mjölkchoklad.
