1:34
I came so close in that way anytime. It’s like that tipping point would have been if I got tickets. No way would I be word recording I got a question for Alia.

1:46
So why are you here? I obviously know

1:51
to start off with good hands because I like doing things that are like abnormal like not your typical like let’s go to dinner and a movie. So like anytime something’s like, different I’m all about it was cool. I was here I was in the city. So a for these shared experiences. Be to like expand my mind. And three to take some cute photos. Okay, yeah. Cute as photos. Yeah.

2:17
People have been posting photos about this. It seems to be a big deal. And it looks fucking awesome. So yeah, it’s worth it. It’s worth anything. I saw some spoilers on Instagram. I tried to shield my eyes, but the whole thing looks so dope and unique experience. And I was like at first. I just ignored the poster that we were walked by every day. Now it’s like I wish I could good I wish I could good and then the second keiondre mentioned, jumped on it. I am excited to see what the fuck is on the other side.

2:47
Whoo. That’s what that’s what’s up you guys. Wow. So wait, there’s security. Security.

2:56
My email tried to count the people online but you don’t know how many people are hidden in those.

3:02
Exactly. You can’t just go knock knock on someone’s tent saying how many people were in that tent? You know?

3:09
We’re counting

3:11
nevermind, it was gonna be more Sure, sure. Oh my gosh. Yeah, so we don’t know what to expect. What the What is amazing. I don’t know the temperature. I guess inside it’s like 63

3:26
Okay, okay, 60s from being girls. I feel like it’s

3:32

3:56
Karen

4:00
I look like I can look like anything. I mean, yeah, I could like any day, but my mind I’m like, can I ever pull up a ribbon? Oh, I don’t like a Britney. Britney has to either be like bitchy or sexy and bitchy.

4:17
Or just stupid. Oh yeah. Are all three

4:22
oh my god shots fired bang bang and McLaughlin sisters. Two o’clock three o’clock. Okay, if it’s like Britney Spears Britney Yeah, Brittany

4:32
could pull off and Brittany.

4:36
Brittany, I can’t

4:41
think you have to get Britney Spears first. Okay, what other Britney? Britney for more Britney Spears? Britney snow Brittany Murphy.

4:51
I don’t know those last two people.

4:54
Really spirit Neymar Brittany Murphy. rip rip.

4:59
Well

5:00
Oh no no it was really yeah.

5:03

5:10
oh wow

5:12

5:31
oh no

5:37
wait you said Brittany Dickey. Yeah

5:41
the name fits too well she

5:44
way she’s

5:46
no yes

5:53
No, she’s not gonna listen to this so she’ll probably never you know she’s out there

6:02
anywho moving on from Dicky

6:13

6:20
JOHN Tucker must die. That prom night.

6:26

6:47
Yeah.

6:50
Okay, it’s a little it’s a little later now. Apparently, we feel a drizzle Yeah, this tree is not doing very well block it there’s a drizzle outside right now we all feel it. Oh, I really Oh, so well where I stopped by

7:09
Did you feel a drizzle

7:11
buddy

7:13
Well, we have we do have an escape route

7:19
that goes oh, that’s what I said bring.

7:23
I can take like clearly am not feeling the rain I can stay and hold down before

7:29
I get here. All right, we’re all wrapped up in blankets right now and like blankets or sleeping bags, meaning Kiana like around a chair.

7:38
Or wrapped like we’re wrapped with a Caterpie becoming a Metapod

7:45
exactly Stay tuned for later news. It’s 144 right now and

7:52
yeah, we’ll catch you catch you when we catch you.

7:56
We’re right behind them

8:02
we’re behind them

8:04
single fall out guys. Okay. Okay, so this

8:09
is back here.

8:14
You’re

8:17
just now

8:21
running out of

8:22
coverage they’re running out of the coverage curve waiting to occur but they’re not curving

8:33
after bookbag

8:38
Jesus there’s no room here. Oh, well I’m actually kind of confused because they went back you know, I think it might be giving out to them. So like people can go Oh, I think he’s giving he’s giving out numbers maybe

8:52
the wall Wait why the tents under here? They have protection.

8:59
Stuff like this. I don’t know. What are you

9:06
saying? Yeah

9:12
that’s what

9:17
there’s like a chair of or something. Wait wouldn’t have the word chair.

9:23
He had like a bag or something. Yeah, we’re we’re laying on the ground now. I’m gonna get like someone comfortable like

9:32
wait didn’t wait any room. I don’t think I would ask you. What?

9:38
So is it valuable lessons for Coachella? Not quite. Like just not me. I’m sure like we’re getting another card because

9:47
there’s too much. Too many of us in such a small space are just going to get old cars and is

9:54
going to be in LA that weekend. I will go up Javier goes

9:59
right

10:00
Yeah.

10:07
Honestly, this is a phenomenon we’re experiencing. Yeah, I’ve never thought it would be.

10:13
I

10:16
think this is as far as we could stretch.

10:22
We’re getting sass now.

10:28
So what do you think just happened?

10:34
I was asked I seem to

10:37
think that there was an argument between two individuals I wasn’t sure what about because I got damn phone calls loud shit.

10:45
So I saw that was getting hotter and hotter. So I started putting on my shoes because I’m ready for anything. You feel me?

10:53
I’m done. And I repeat in the scene because my mom was military.

10:59
I fucking around when nobody went around when nobody

11:02
saw my dog run. Emily is evidently.

11:07
Evidently You see, I got my shoes. I believe Yes.

11:14
That’s all I can do. That’s true. It’s true.

11:19
prayers.

11:22
just laughing on FaceTime her boyfriend. Say hi. It’s my five. You want to say something? It’s podcast. Say hi to the podcast. And I say something really interesting.

11:39
Interesting. Wow. That’s okay. We’ll come back to you.

11:44
Do you know what you’re doing?

11:47
We’re discussing Joseph’s horrible photos. Yeah. Oh, JoJo is formal for those wallets. He came out

11:56
like there’s no way just like my family is praying for my mother with like, fasting.

12:05
Like there’s no I feel you

12:12
thank you. Thank you.

12:19
Can you tell me what phenomenon just transpired?

12:24
JAMIE wanted to know a safe place to go pee. She found one. I was trying to make her go with a stranger but she

12:35
asked her where the spot was down that way

12:38
while the cafe owner got downstairs she

12:53
Oh Wait, where’s

12:55
wrong?

12:58
We’re Oh wow. Yeah, so we that’s a p corner a p area p bush piece that for whatever have been established.

13:08
I want to do it.

13:10
I brought wipes though. In case we need to go up here. Yeah.

13:16
That was the

13:24
sorry.

13:27
No.

13:36
Damn cave, man. We ain’t bam.

13:41
3236

13:45
we have over prepared for this, but that’s better than being underprepared. Fucking is Nate like that. She can’t go get drunk. So it ain’t like that shit. Ain’t gonna say it.

14:02
It’s like 730 We are here.

14:06
I don’t see the sunrise cuz I was sleeping. But it came and we were out.

14:16
I feel like

14:19
Well, I guess let’s

14:23
coast. So the first person here for pa nurse today. Yeah. And then the person who got the 100 ticket got here at 12:13am and we got here like at 1245 or 1230. Or maybe like 1230

14:41
or we met up at the parking deck around 1230. So we probably got here on line so 40

14:49
Good night.

14:52
Good morning and good night at the same time and this Okay, little person. Like Good morning. Good night. Good morning.

15:00
walk safely drive safely? Question for you guys. Yeah. Would you do it again? Yeah.

15:07
Yeah, it wasn’t that bad. I think I pathless next time just in case like now I kind of know what to expect from camping or not camping. We’re like hanging out for tickets find the tree. That’s pretty useful shade for just a drizzle, if not go directly under the awning closest to the door. Period. Hey.

15:27
So I guess like,

15:29
what, what did you expect that was different? So he said, we didn’t talk. We did not talk as much as I thought I’d be up all night.

15:38
I was like, I’m sorry. Good night,

15:41
literally. And I was also unexpected, like the variety of ages. Like they’re definitely like a lot of older folk are doing they’re all like the man behind us. He did not go to sleep.

15:53
He didn’t go to sleep. Yeah. Like I mean, every time I was up or shift a position or open my eyes, he was awake or reading or whatever. But kudos to him. He’s definitely 60 years old or something. Wow.

16:06
Wow. So I want to be like at that energy level. Like that’s really inspirational to me.

16:13
Now got ready for Coachella. Yeah.

16:18
You got ready for the future.

16:21
Now when people talk about like, Oh my God, this crazy camping out for the new iPhone. I wouldn’t come up with a new iPhone still. Because like no, like, I think I can’t vote for certain things. For sure. Definitely.

16:35
More of the story when I think I’ll leave in early leave earlier.

16:42
I’ll have some nice little juicy peaches down here.

16:47
He wasn’t like a snack. Early in the morning. Yeah, like shoo.

16:53
Where we can like spoil food in the morning. Oh, that food you forgotten a friend right?

17:01
Want to put up because you just did exactly that as a snack. Not not mean i when i first wake up.

17:09
I wake up like this. Alright, we have returned to the house of ci.

17:15
Okay, so it’s Monday morning and I come to work. And then Megan tells me some some interesting news about what went now on Saturday. Yes. Okay. So, the last day to buy the tickets for the museum was Sunday morning. And you will never believe what time people got in line on Saturday.

17:35
Early before, Okay, so the first people in line got in line at 2pm. And the last people to get in line and received a 100 ticket got in line at 7pm. You eat all your meals there and everything. Suddenly your friends they were like, No my friends wanted to go on. I said screw that. Like I’m not sitting on concrete for 13 hours. Yeah, it was it was an ordeal. It wasn’t our ideal. Okay, so what time did you so he went home went home, like 830 on Friday went asleep. When did you get up again? Oh, actually done an app? Yeah, no, I was like, I just found that out. I was like, I don’t know. I had so much coffee and energy drinks and had a nap. Like before we went and I slept decently, like better on the contrary than I thought I would. Oh, wow. Wow. power to you. power to you. Would you do this again? Yes, but I would do it way earlier, like right when the museum exhibit starts because at the beginning when I was tracking it, people would get in line at 830 and get tickets 8:30am like the next day, they’d only be in line for 30 minutes. So again, get in line at like 5am just sit there for a couple. Yeah, that’s what’s Uh, well, power to us. Cuz we did the dang thing. And yeah, I don’t have a story. I went to bed one night, literally, literally.

18:57
I was fun. I don’t think it was. I don’t know if it was worth that weight though. It wasn’t I think it was spoiled by most of the pictures online. I feel like it would have been a lot better if they just didn’t allow a picture taken at all.

19:12
That’s a very valid point. Because because people like you saw like I saw that already. It wasn’t super like it was almost underwhelming because the pictures are so grand. Yeah, I mean you get there and you like wait in line and like the room is like tiny, but they look big and pictures so I was expecting it’s bigger. Did you take photos?

19:30
Yeah, that was like my favorite

19:33
is sort of a huge like, giant room you get there and like the rooms are like just this little area like the corner.

19:41
So it’s like so so the pictures are illusion. Yeah, I guess they’re mirrors. Infinity mirrors it makes sense but that’s true. I think it was a little bit overwhelming for to when you always do the pictures on the inside. Ah, man, we let you in there first 20 to 30 seconds and then it is so quick.

20:00
Like if someone telling you to like, yeah.

20:03
So what if you were like, okay, maybe I’m just an extra What if you were the first person to walk in? Could you like, move yourself back? So you could like, be like the last kid out, you know, it’s just one room with one door. And you go in and groups of like two or three. So they let you in like with your width, and you go in for 30 seconds, and they come back out the next morning. Gotcha, gotcha. It definitely helps to be in mind. Earlier, they say get there 30 minutes early. Yeah. Because like, or it might have just been our time slot too, because we went in June. And like, it was a lot less busy than by like 1230. And all the people coming up. It was so bad when I

20:44
saw that’s what we did go back and go to girls. second word.

20:52
Was there anything you saw? That’s a prize do? Well, there was a short film or film that she made with apparently a lot of nudity. And apparently, like, I didn’t we didn’t see it. It was 23 minutes long. We were really good. That group

21:09
with them. Gotcha. Gotcha. But it’s pretty graphic because she’s apparently really into like nudity and like, freedom and stuff. Like even in the 60s or whatever. She was like everyone was all like,

21:22
yeah, like, yeah, naked.

21:25
We came into this world that way.

21:28
Yeah, so I heard the film, The film was pretty graphic. kind of wish I had been.

21:35
I was just getting bored. Oh my god, I gotta eat leisure for y’all.

21:41
We took her lunch break, because like part of the time we were going to be gone.

21:45
God she knew that she you know, she’s there’s a documentary on Netflix about it.

21:51
I think I’ll watch it since I didn’t

21:54
go to the

21:56
Yeah. So

21:59
let’s say you get five stars. I don’t know if museums get rid of five stars or exhibit. But let’s actually five stars or 10 stars. Which option would you like? Alright, at a 10 stars. How many stars? Would you give your experience?

22:15
I guess seven because the art was super cool. And she seems really cool. Like, she seems like an awesome person. But

22:24
just like excitement wise and like being like, hyped up to take points for that. That’s okay, that makes sense. That makes sense. Okay, you actually said something about reminded me of a question. So the whole like cellphone things?

22:41
Do you think it will be wild if like, you know, museums are like, hey, put yourself in the box. Before you. Like go into the exhibit. You think for one of the one of the exhibits at the high art. Yeah, the artist. She requested one of the rights, typically to put your phone down.

23:00
It’s even more so because the optics are fragile, and stuff that she wanted you to experience because it wasn’t like one of the really cool lit up.

23:10
Like I feel like those veterans experience without, because you’re only there for 30 seconds. You don’t get any time to just like sit there and like take it. That’s true. That’s true.

23:23
Do you think if like you got to spend more time in there. Like you really would have like, felt like hey, yeah,

23:31
I think I would have avoided World War.

23:37
Two

23:40
are not allowed to sit so don’t sit in

23:43
their chairs. No, but there’s a floor. Oh.

23:47
Okay. And also the exit from the gift shop. It’s an emergency exit and it will set the alarm off. Did you sound the alarm? Yes. How loud? Are the

23:58
kids in the gift shop? No. Was it like the whole museum or anything? Did you buy gifts?

24:03
For some reason I thought we thought you accidentally

24:07
makes me sense. Like we just we the way

24:11
I probably would have sounded the alarm as well.

24:16
feel no shame. feel no shame. Okay, so I’m gonna ask the same question. I asked Jamie out of 10 stars, what would you give your experience?

24:27
Probably 7.5.

24:33
So you guys are a point five difference. She was saying like, she thinks that social media kind of showed us a lot about the exhibits beforehand. And the time that you spend there could have been longer. What do you think? Yeah, I agree. Also, waiting in lines kind of takes away if you can just walk in, and they’re like, there weren’t a lot of people there.

24:53
I’d probably give it like an eight or 8.5 but that takes away from me because it’s like being an animal.

25:00
Use min Park, except instead of like going on like a roller coaster just like going into a room for 30 seconds. That’s like just when you’re starting to kind of take it in they’re like, Alright times up. Yeah. Did you go with somebody? Yeah. Yeah, my girlfriend, would you would you recommend, like other people going? I know we don’t have that many days left. But basically if you’re into like,

25:23
I mean, if you’re into our I would say, yeah, we’re getting into the grand. Yeah, don’t you take photos too, don’t go around. Now I was just like trying to take it in. I did try to take a photo real quick. And he came out kind of blurry. But I was just trying to like, absorb it.

25:40
Like, be present. And so many people already posted it on Instagram, I wasn’t gonna like, take a picture and post it. So I was just like, I’m just gonna

25:50
enjoy it.

25:52
on that, I feel you. But I thought the most interesting part was just like, the history portion of it actually. Like, this lady’s story and like, how she came to be and everything. And just like that,

26:06
like summer love 60s, early 70s, late 60s movement was kind of interesting to me in general. So I thought that bar was interesting.

26:16
Even more so than like, the mirrors themselves. I wish I had seen the movie. I didn’t know that that was a thing.

26:26
Yeah, it’d be cool if they did like a

26:30
you know how sometimes they like people do those movies in the park thing they should do like a displaying like the movie like on the highs like, like, yeah, some naked people on like, grass, like, they can’t do that. Probably gonna just do something similar and try to pitch my idea to the high end and just make millions of dollars.

26:53
wabc is where you actually have like an idea for like an exhibit?

26:58
Well, I think you could do like so many interactive, things like that, like, you know, that’s kind of like an experience.

27:05
That is very true. It’s not that hard to come up with an idea. Like, you could create rooms where like, every tile plays a different, like synth note. And then like, it also like lights up a different part of the inside of the wall. So you and your friends can go in for like, a couple minutes. Just like experimented with it. Yeah, that is so literally what you said reminded me of like two things. One, we had these steps at school where like, you could throw the stones and they like, had different pitches like outside of one of our libraries. I know, right? And then I remember this one time when America’s Got Talent, I don’t know what

27:46
what their suits were matter. But it’d be people like in suits, and like, they would go and like the color like you’d have to like turn all the lights off and the colors ago, but that is really dope. Oh my god, that’d be great for like adult and children because children like love stuff like that. And then we let Oh, I got my show idea just to be like, bars, like all over the exhibit. So you go get a drink, and then really close and start like, making music maybe. Okay, I love this idea. Like, I ship it so hard. If you ever need like, help. Like I’m here, like, I don’t have that much money, but like I can let you know artists and how many money but here’s my idea. Like if you need manpower and like, you know, publicity power. Yeah, I’m just saying that’s like how I would

28:32
call the hire like, Hey, here’s my idea. How can I say, hey,

28:38
you never know, man. But what I’m saying is like, I don’t think that that idea like I mean, I guess it does take

28:47
some like artistic knowledge but

28:54
like the math or like the design she did for the one room. My hands in the shadow, but like

29:02
she had to do for that warm room. It was probably like a lot more as crazy. designing them like

29:10
I guess you were initially

29:12
a lot of math has to go into like heard thing. Yes, it’s basically

29:19
it’s physics.

29:21
But

29:22
I guess I was just thinking like,

29:25
she just put up there as

29:27
well. Looks like she actually like, drew it out and stuff like capital.

29:34
Power to prove that she’s still alive and still creating art. So she was born in 1929.

29:43
That’s crazy. She’s 90 years old. Yeah.

29:49
I did not know that. How Wow, man. We all live to 90 and be healthy and able bodied. The crazy thing to that I thought was interesting. She’s like

29:58
when she was going through like the lol

30:00
hip movement. She was like 40. And like, that movement was all like 18 through like 25 year olds. So it was like super unusual for like, cuz you would have been like, especially if you’re born in Japan, like super conservative, you know, like, in the 2020s in Japan.

30:21
So and then also, America, you’re like 40. And you’re like, integrating into this movement. It’s pretty interesting. You guys remember Priya Say hello to the people Priya. Hello. So yeah, she was sitting down with us when we were camping originally. But then her boyfriend was like, Hey, I got some tickets. And tell us about your experience. Because you went on Saturday, Sunday, Saturday, I went on Saturday at 3:30pm. So I really really enjoyed it. I think it was worth the wait for anyone that waited overnight, I think it was worth it. It was very unique. It was different from any art exhibit I’ve been to it was very interactive, each room that you stepped in was like stepping into a different universe or planet. It was really cool. And even though you only had 30 seconds in each room, it seemed like plenty of time to take pictures or videos. So and we also went back to to the rooms

31:24
a second time, and the line really wasn’t that bad, Oscar, but waiting for it was a little bit different. The line was a little bit longer. And we had to get there 30 minutes prior to our viewing time. So that makes me wonder, you know, people that waited overnight, they would be so tired of waiting on that exam at the start. But like I said, there were a bunch of interactive things, there was like a box that you could put your head through and take pictures and their lights inside of it. And it was just it was a very psychedelic experience to it was really cool. I would recommend it for anyone.

32:01
So like, you would say, out of all the exhibits, you’ve seen a you put them in your top frame? Oh, for sure. For sure. Yeah. And like, Okay, so, so I saw some pictures, like, you know, Instagram, social media, stuff like that. But when you say it was interactive, Like what? Like, like, what specific rooms? Like how were you able to, like become like a part of like the art, though. Um, you know, there were some rooms that you went to, and the lights would flicker and it was just, you know, so no one would have the same experience going in the room and the lights would flicker differently. Like I said, there was there was one room where you could kind of

32:40
there’s one room where he got stickers that were shaped the dots, and you can just stick them anywhere. So that was interactive. And they had furniture that you could stick the stickers on and stick it on the walls or whatever they had that people that you could take pictures through, and the lights were constantly changing. So yes, how am I really psychedelic? Like, yeah, in my mind, I’m like, if someone was like tripping, exactly.

33:11
It was beautiful.

33:14
I mean, I’ll always have memories of it because it was so unique and so, so pretty. And it was Valentine’s weekend, guys. So that made it even better for me. I thought, I mean, I thought it was a nice little romantic kind of date to take your partner on. So but overall, I really really enjoyed the experience and I think it was totally worth it for anyone that was able to get tickets that did wait outside and I’m just so sorry. You guys can tickets now. It’s all good. It’s all good. Okay, well, okay, I’m like, cuz I’m blanking because Okay, so like, I know, we was we were sitting, you know, waiting, and the whole you know what happened? So Jamie and Megan, I know they said like, this is their sister or like their Yeah, she’s husband, her sister’s husband. Somebody got them tickets. And then I’m blanking. So you said, you said John’s friends got TSB on returns friends was able to go online right at 10. And snag and tickets. Yeah. For Saturday. So lucky. I told him there were 18,000 people in front of me. He was just like, yeah, you’d never gotten tickets. I was like, Yeah, I know. Marissa had maybe 1000 people in front of her 6000 I think Yeah, so Morris, I have like 5000 people in front of her I had like 7000 or 8000. And you got hikvision like you said, like a little person going and then you’re like, JK, but all of a sudden we found out that all the regular tickets were sold out. So luckily his friend was able to get online and get six regular tickets for the same time on Saturday, which is nice. So thank you. So cute guy. So I heard there was like a film or something like after the exhibit.

34:49
I did not know about the film and every day, just an explicit film or whatever. And I know and I did not know about it, but I can tell you that they had some explicit artwork.

35:00
Well, unity, how do you feel? Oh, I thought it was really cool because it kind of brought back the vibes of the 60s, you know, when hippies were around, it kind of gave you that feel, you know, you’re looking at this interactive, kind of psychedelic artwork, and then you see them just, you know, free.

35:24
Exactly, completely. So, um, but I would highly recommend seeing this exhibit, I think it’s gonna be traveling around. So you know, and I’m sure it will be back because I know it’s been in Atlanta once before, so Oh, really? Yeah.

35:41
I had to keep that. Yeah. I think next time, I’ll be like one of those people who

35:46
want tickets going on sale on October? Or did yeah, I would recommend trying in October. And they’re also ridiculously expensive tickets that you could buy online from people that were trying to scalp them, you know, for three or four times as much as they actually pay for them. So

36:03
gotta get out here. Yeah, I mean, I guess if you had the money, and you don’t mind spending it, and you’d rather do that than waiting outside. That’s an option. But I mean, I would not pay over $200 to see that exhibit. I that’s just me personally.

36:19
I can do what $200 I have Bills, Bills, we got bills. Do. I mean, to be honest, I probably wouldn’t even spend $200, seeing my favorite light music artists thought did pop into my head. Yeah, I pop No, no, no, maybe in the future, like when I’m gone, and blah, blah, blah, and

36:39
I’m gonna find the money, maybe 100 100. And I want a lottery.

36:46
Oh, my God, that’s

36:49
Oh, whether you’re outside waiting for tickets overnight from like midnight, until past the sun rises when you probably should be at work. Or whether you’re just that lucky person who randomly gets put into a queue. And your number is that magic number that is picked before 1000s of 1000s of others. Or maybe you have that family member who’s just like, hey, guess what? I’ve got something cool going on. Do you know about it? If you want something and you really want it, it’s gonna happen some way somehow. Until next time. Thanks for listening to this episode of Tea With Kea
