Ep. 14: Jinxed

(00:00):
Hello. Hello everyone. You are now listening to Tea with Kea. On today’s episode. I’m just, you know, I’m just gonna dive right in. So it’s mother’s day weekend and you know, the shout out to all of the lovely mothers out here that re well, I mean, shout out to like every mother, obviously, because we’re here because of mothers. Hello. I wanted to let you guys know I’m from Greensboro. I’m from Greensboro, North Carolina. And I live currently in Atlanta and I was like, you know what? I asked my mother. I said, Hey, what do you want for mother’s day? And, you know, she was like, oh, I want to do a, see, you know, in your union. Yeah, no, I was like, all right, bet. So I’m thinking, okay, I’m going to hop in my car. I’m actually in the car right now, driving back from Greensboro to Atlanta.
(00:57):
And anyway, so I was thinking to myself, all right, I’ll work from home on Friday. I drive brat drive back. Oh, English is hard. Drive back Thursday, so I can already be home. And man, there’s someone on the side of the road he’ll throw. Okay. Which is actually what I’m going to talk about. So, and bear with me if, you know, I’ve never like recorded one of these episodes in the car. And I kind of like like that with this like little, I literally have my change thing. Like pulled out. You go like the thing in your thing of your car, like next to your steering wheel that you kind of put like, you know, spirit change or your parking deck key card. And that’s what I have it in. And I had my phone like hanging halfway out the little mic.
(01:42):
You know, I be, I’d make my set up with what I got. So anyhow, anyhow. So I’ve driven from Atlanta to Greensboro many times. I know when I first moved to Atlanta, I ain’t really had no friends like that. So I was like, oh, well, I’m just gonna go home all the time. Cause that’s what I feel, you know? So I feel the best anyways. I go home less now, but when, as I’ve done the trip many times ho boy, howdy. Okay. So the trip already didn’t start the way I had entered the two, I hadn’t tended to leave work straight on Thursday and like hit the road. But when I woke up Thursday I wasn’t at my car. I a long story short. I had a team outing on Wednesday, you know? And we went to this, you know, little venue and then we decided we was gonna dip, but a couple of us left our cars with valet because the valet was like, oh yeah, you can leave your cars here.
(02:38):
It was like bad. We can get it in the morning, long story short with we go through the place and it’s not open. Like nobody’s better. And so we’re like, huh, what? In the world? We look at us as the video doesn’t open until five o’clock. I’m like, oh my God, I’m thinking to myself, I got to wait until five o’clock. I got to like, leave work, then go there. They got my car. Then go home. Like how much stuff? Anyways point is one of our coworkers ended up getting in touch with one of the guys that worked there. And so we, even though we didn’t have our cars, like the first half of the Workday we left at lunch, got our cars and I’m like, all right, bet. So then I’m thinking, okay, well I have not been home yet. So I still got to go home and you know, get my stuff and then head out anyways.
(03:21):
So I do that. Boom, BA bam. And I’m like, all right, I’m gonna hit the road. Yo. I was telling my mother and I told her situation, whatever. And I’m on the road and it is it’s terrible. It was literally one of, if not the worst, if one, one of the most terrible drives that I had been on because, and I’m thinking like, I literally chose to leave on Thursday. Cause I thought, all right, you know, I’m gonna be out here, but the weather and let me tell you this. So when I was leaving and my roommate had gotten home and like she got home right before I was about to do. And she was like, oh, where are you going? I’m going, I’m going home. She’s like home, home, like yeah, home home. And she was like, oh my God, like, you know, it’s raining out, yada, yada.
(04:06):
And I was like. Yeah. Like I know like during the rain, before, you know, I was kind of like dismissing her concern. Cause I was like, I’ve been here, I’ve done this right boy. Howdy. Okay. So let’s get to the real deal. I get on the road and I’m driving and mind you, it’s like, it’s about like 330 miles. I’m gonna turn the air up. Hopefully it doesn’t break the sound up. We gonna see him. It’s a little hot, a little hot. So it’s about 330 miles from where I live in Atlanta to where I live in Greensboro and basically, wow. Okay. This is what happened. I’m driving and mind you, I just get on 85. I just drive the whole way. And so I’m just like lie down. He die. Like, you know, it’s all, it’s literally boring. You just get an 85, you just take it, just take all the way down.
(04:58):
I’m driving. And I’m in the far left lane and all of a sudden, just like I, like, I can’t even like, that’s the closest I can describe it. I’m not good with sounds like that. Like that, but that is how I can describe it. I, I like was like, what the heck just happened? Like I I’m just driving on the highway. I did not hit anything. No one else was around me. So I’m like, what the happened? My car swerves. And like, I see like some like, not like smoke, but like, I mean, I guess it was smelled like some like whatever, like up in the air from my car and I’m like, whoa, I’m like, I literally am like flipping the out. I actually, let me tell you what happened before that. Because this is, this is really important. This is literally me talking it up and I don’t know if y’all have done this.
(05:52):
Y’all probably done this before. I guess it’s like is it jinxing? I don’t know. Here’s the situation because, so it was raining by the way, like the dry was terrible because it was raining so much. And of course there was like mad heads and I was on the road later than I expected because of course I had to go home and get my stuff. So I was already like, you know, in the thicket of rush hour and you know, people don’t, it would all be driving like they supposed to anyways. So just think about rush hour when it’s like raining cats and dogs. Like literally it’s just like status, like, like, whoa, this mountain sky anyways. So it’s raining and it’s cloudy. And like, you know, it’s like the evening time or whatever. So it ain’t that bright. So I was like already, you know, like in like a mood or whatever, cause people out here was just wiling and I was talking to him with him on the phone and I make a joke.
(06:38):
Well, it’s supposed to be a joke. So I’ve AAA, which I don’t know if I have, oh, I think I, I think I told you guys on what a ditch that I was at afterwards. Anyway, the point is I got AAA this year. Anyways. And so I’m joke with my mother and I’m like, mom, this is like the worst drive ever. Like I can’t do this. Can I just call AAA and get them to tell me home? Cause like, you know, I have the, whatever the like the most expensive one is I was like, I have that. So I know that can just like tell me and I can be on my lady daddy way. And my mother, I mean, it was still, as I started saying that she was like, no. And I said, oh, just kidding. She’s like, no, you’re not.
(07:15):
I was like, she’s just like, he’s just like, no, anyways. So I was totally kidding, but it did cross him out. Cause I was like, huh, if I could tell it, I could just like, you know, be like, oh, like something yada yada yada my car blahzay, blahzay, blahzay. And then just be sitting shotgun on my car is taking some, I found destination while it would hold. Yeah. Cause this, this person that’s doing the most. Yeah, so basically I had a blowout. I’ve never had a blow out. Like the tire literally just, just like was obliterated. I got, so I luckily, like I said, like no one was around me and I was in the far left lane. So all I had to do was like, like when I swerved, like I swerved, it was my front right tire. I swerved to the left and I’m in the shoulder and I I’m scared because I’m like, you know what the has happened.
(08:11):
I get out and I look and my tire is like obliterated. I’m like I said, I’m so confused because a like I’ve never experienced this. Be like, I didn’t hit anything. Like, you know, like, like it was just so it was just so random. I was so taken aback. So literally there were so many thoughts going through my mind and I’m like freaking out because, okay, so here’s, here’s the main point I want to get across this episode because as my listeners, you know, I started thinking about like, where I want to go with C with key, like where I want to take it and what I want, like y’all to get out of this. And I realize, I mean, I’m 23 and I make a lot of mistakes. Like a lot of the mistakes that could be avoided or if things were to happen, the situation could be, you know, the severity could be lessened.
(09:06):
So basically here is why I was freaked out. So I’m like, okay, crap, we’re tired. Like just blow the out. I, oh, there’s like Debra’s on the highway. Shout out to Kiana. Let her Keeney there was actually really some Deborah’s on the highway anyways. Right, right now. Not like when it happened anyways, that’s what happened. So I, a few months ago, I don’t know how long ago I got a flat tire when I was in Atlanta and Atlanta. There’s so many potholes are so many like sharp, like turn curves. And like, there are like broken, like it it’s just like, it’s wild, it’s wild. Like the roads could be better. And yes, I am thankful because you know, places, other places don’t have even half as good as roads as us, but still, you know, when it’s work. So anyways when that had happened a few months ago, I literally got AAA.
(10:09):
Like that day it happened like on my phone and called them. It was like, Hey you know, can you and there was like, there’s a real tire in my trunk. So I was like, Hey, can you come? And Chris, my tire, I was like, right near work. He came, he took the tire off. That was flat, put it back in my trunk. And then, you know, the real tire that was on my truck and put it on my car. I didn’t want donut real tire. I was like, alright, bet. Cocoa cook. So apparently my mother, which, I mean, I believe that she said this because she says a lot of things and I’m just hardheaded. I don’t listen to her. I’m very forgetful. Apparently she told me to, you know, get a new tire because the tire I had in my trunk was the flat.
(10:47):
So basically, yeah. So on Friday, may 12, I’ll just kidding. Thursday, May 9th and dates are very hard. When I had this blowout, I was freaking out because I had no replacement. I did not have a donut. The tire in my trunk was a flat tire and I have to get to myself while I’m in like a relationship situation. And let me give you some context too, about where I was on my journey. So I looked at my phone because like I said, you know, I get on 85. I just, you know, drive the whole way. It’s I never really actually know like where I am at like a real given time. I mean, I do, if I look at a sign, but other than that, I’m just like, all right, boom, mom’s road. I’m about to go. So look at my phone and we can open this lane.
(11:36):
And it says that I am 218 miles from my home in Greensboro. And I’m like, like what? So the first thing I do, I call my mother, I turn a situation. And you know, of course like, I mean, yeah, she’s concerned about my safety, but she’s also upset because I don’t have a spare. And I was apparently told to get a spare. And she’s like, you know, you need to figure this out. Yada, yada, yada. So here was my process. And like mind you, it’s like, it’s getting later, it’s not sunny outside. So she was like, okay, well maybe like there’s a tire place around you play it. We’ll give you a tire. So I called them. Right. Cause I’m thinking, okay, maybe, maybe they can like bring a tire out for me. I called AAA. And I’m like, Hey, like, do you guys bring tires out?
(12:33):
And they say no. And I’m like, wow. I was really hoping that, well, my mother had mentioned that and that, that would be a solution. AAA will not come out and bring you with tire. So real tears to that, no matter what membership you have and parents like the real problem too. So I was thinking, okay, well I can get them to tell me. Right. And I was like, well, you know, how far can I get a tow? And she was like, you can get towed up to a hundred miles. So I was like, okay, well I guess this was a temporary solution. So I had the information in mind and you know, I’m like back and forth between I call AAA and my mother and seeing like, if there’s any tire shops around me that are open and the problem was because of how late it was there was not.
(13:21):
So I was just like, okay, kind of screwed. But my mother was like, well, there was like an O’Reilly close by like six minutes away. And even though they didn’t have tires, my mother was like, well, call them, you know, get their opinions. See if there’s like any spot that they know that it’s closed. Cause I’m like, well, they’re in this area. So they probably want to bring it on. I definitely know it better than I do. So I call them and you know, I’m like, Hey, I had a blow out. I don’t have a spare. What can I do? Like, where’s the closest like spot that’s open right now where I can get a tire. The guy doesn’t know. So he asked his manager, some of the other coworkers and they say the, the closest spot is green Greenville. And I’m like, I’m really like whole.
(14:06):
Cause I’m trying to, you know, get to Greensboro. I’m trying to go forward. Not to go back cause my you to it’s awesome. Like I said, the sun is not out at this point and this was what was really getting me. So I was freaking out because when I had to cause oh, okay. So the O’Reilly guy was like, well, you could try to finesse AAA. Cause if they could tell me up to a hundred miles and I know that like I could get another tow, I can get them to tell me a hundred miles and then get out, order another tow from AAA and get them a Toby, another hundred miles. So I have to my stuff. Okay. Okay. You know the spin Nasseri like, I’m not really good at finessing, but this was a desperate time. So that’s where times call for desperate measures something.
(14:47):
Okay, cool. So I call my mother, I tell her, he said, and she’s like, okay, okay, okay. I’m going to do that. So here I’m thinking, all right, I don’t have a spare, but what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna call AAA. I’m gonna get them to tell me a hundred miles. I’m gonna get out and then I’m gonna order another to, and then they’re going to tell me another a hundred miles. And the thought was like, when that happened, cause I told you a GPS that I was 218 miles from home. I was like, well, ma if I can get 18 miles within the house, you know, that’s still going to be in Greensboro. So anyways, that was the plan. So, but here was, there was not a top. Can’t tell, it looks like a car. I guess it’s just slow down. Anyways point is, oh, by the way, I was not speeding.
(15:28):
When this happened, I was not going over the speed limit. I was not out here being all Willy nilly silly or whatever. So anyways, I call people and I’m like, Hey, you know, I needed to, can I just, you know, get the a hundred miles or whatever. And she’s like, you would think that’s an easy question to answer is 2019. We’re arguing. So she was, I could not really describe where I was. I was like, I’m on 85. And she was like, cause you know, I’m not, I don’t have like my GPS or whatever. Like I wasn’t using it. So I didn’t know like what mile marker I was passed or whatever. And she’s like, okay, like, you know, what marker are you at? And I’m like, I don’t know. I’m on 85. I got up. Like, I wasn’t like looking. I was just driving.
(16:15):
And then it happened. And mind you, it’s like basically dark and I’m telling her, I’m like, I’m alone on the side of the highway. It’s like getting dark. I’m a female. I feel like I can’t just like get out of my car and leave it and try to, cause also I wouldn’t even know which distance to walk in. So like the closest mile marker. And I tried to go to my phone on Google maps and zoom, but like, it wasn’t telling me like there, no, from what I could tell, like there was no mile marker that I could see on Google maps and I’m asking her, I’m like, it’s 2019. You can’t, I’ll just like put my location, like for my phone or whatever. And she’s like, no, we can’t do that. I’m like, okay. Okay. So I turned around and I see this like overpass and it’s like as [inaudible] as with some numbers.
(17:04):
And so I say, okay, well I’m at the intersection of, you know, this nine for whatever overpass and 85, but she’s still like, could not like I don’t, I don’t know how they determined. Like I, I just assumed that she was looking at a map where I was looking at and I tried to like zoom out because I also didn’t know what city I was in. I zoomed out and I knew I was in South Carolina and I think it was like Ashley Hills and white Oaks or something or app, I don’t know. There was two, there was two cities I could see like kind of for towns, whatever. Cause they were like tiny Mirisch me and I tried, you know, telling her that. And basically she was like, you know, asking like where I was going. And I was like, okay, well I’m going north.
(17:48):
So she knows how the highway I on. And you know, she has like enough information. She thinks to, you know, be able to say like where I am and I’m like breathing like whew. Okay. Yes, boom, bam. So she has told me on her way and me, I been getting excited and like when little things happen when not even little things, just like, I’m like, oh yeah, I got the information I commented back. And then my mother’s like, someone’s, when’s the person coming to tell you? I was like, Ooh, I didn’t ask, well, let me call them back. If I called them back and I asked for a timeframe and she’s like, oh, I don’t know. The driver is going to, you know, contact you and then they’re going to work it out. And I’m like, whew. Okay. And sir, uncertainty makes me feel like uncomfortable.
(18:30):
And like I said, like, it’s dark on the side highway. I’m alone. I’m trying, I’m like, you know, far too far from Atlanta and like definitely too far from home. So, you know, and mind you, I texted her, I texted my best friend in Atlanta, my two best friends in Atlanta. And I texted two of my other friends in Atlanta and I texted my best friend from my hometown. And cause I was just like, I texted my roommate because I was just like, well, you know, like, okay, real talk, real talk. This is terrible. I was thickness because my mind was going like a hundred miles per hour where I had like had the blowout and like swerved over. There was actually a dead deer, probably like 10 feet in front of my car. And I was thinking to myself, this is going to be me.
(19:15):
I’m gonna be this dead deer. Like I’m going to be on the news. Like I’m really not trying to be with like, it’s just going to be like, you know, here lives cancer. Ha. I just, I was thinking the worst, you know? Cause people are crazy out here. You can’t trust no body. Like people be getting snatched during the daytime from target parking lots and she’s like, anything could happen. So anyways thankfully the dude calls me or whatever. And again, like he asked me like, you know, where are you? And I tried, oldest person is, I’m like in the left lane right now, but this person is like riding on my and I ain’t trying to be bullied. So I’m to just get over here anyways. He asked me a great question. He says, well, okay, so you know, how far are you from the Love’s off exit four.
(20:06):
And I’m like, I don’t know. Let me see. And I looked it up and instead I was, I think it was like 27 or 29 miles away from it. So he was like, all right, bet. Like he could, you know, pinpoint me. And he knew, like I said, I was going north. And so yeah, it was like, like 30, 45 minutes after that. And he came and got me and I was like, think to myself. Oh, you know, so as you look at the whole plan in my head, like he gonna pick me up, you know, I’m gonna get dropped. And the thing is too, because the lady was like a blank. And he was like, where you wanna get dropped off at? And I was like, what’s the maximum distance I can get. And I guess she like looked a hundred miles and then saw the closest like AAA drop off location.
(20:52):
So it actually ended up being slightly more than a hundred miles. But anyways, we’ll put me in Charlotte. So I’m like, all right, bet. I’m gonna get, I’m gonna get dropped off in Charlotte. I’m gonna get from Charlotte Greensboro. Boom, bam, bam. So you know the dude Teltra I forgot his name. So I’m sorry sir. She listened to this, but the man and the tow truck would picked me up. You know, he’s taking pictures of my car before he puts it on the ramp, I guess for like insurance purposes to be like, well, your car looked like this. So you know, if anything were to happen, oh my God. Get all your people really do ride the line out here. You were a whole motorhome anyways. Yeah, so he showed me pictures and he’s like, oh, like something has been and like there’s this wire hanging down and I’m thinking, oh my God, like, there’s more damage.
(21:40):
I’m thinking I’m going to have to pay for something out. Anyways point is, I’m just happy that he’s here and he’s picking me up and I’m like, I can be on my Merry way. So it was the car on whatever we get in the car getting the truck. And I, like, I had some cookies. I was like, Hey, what’s a cookie. And he’s like, nah, I got a bad tube. Yada, yada, yada, I’m kind of in pain. So I was like, I like think to myself like, okay, well we probably ain’t gonna be talking to that much because you’re Madsen pain and it’s like lay and whatever. So I’m like, okay, I wanted to stay awake the whole time, but I inadvertently fell asleep. You know, when you put your elbow up, like on the, on the side of the door and he, like, you got your, you know, your cheek on your fist.
(22:13):
Yeah, that was me. And yeah, I was out not like a light. I was like, you know, making little conversation here and there, but anyways so I meant, I’m going to tell truck. We go and fast forward. Oh, they didn’t have to burn most sees my, and I felt good that okay. Once again, Shrek a water refreshing. Okay. So fast forward we get to Charlotte and so we get to Charlotte and he’s like, okay. You know, like if someone pick you up and okay, a, I hate lying B I’m a bad liar. But see, in this case I needed to cause like, you know, I had, I had to make the master plan and I was like, yeah. And so, you know, he like unhooked my car or whatever. Like, no, it takes it off the ramp and you know, then he goes, so I’m in Charlotte and I’m in my car.
(23:14):
And the triple a parking lot. And I’m like, all right, cool. Next phase, the plan. So I caught her play and I’m like, Hey, can I get a tow? And I know I’ve been, so I’ve been in like customer, I’ve worked her summer service before. So I know what it’s like, like when someone needs something and you know, they’re asking questions and trying to help them out. But let me tell you, this lady was not helpful. She was not nice. I don’t remember her name. There was no option for me to just surveys. So there’s no way I could like, you know, be like, Hey, like you might need to like reevaluate with this woman. So I’m asking her, I’m like, Hey, kind of toe. And you know, she like looks at my info and she was like, we just gave you a tub.
(23:56):
And I’m like, it’s like, yeah, like I know, but you know, they told me at maximum I could go a hundred miles. So I have another toe under my plan. So it was a possible, I can get that tone now. And she’s like, there’s only one toe per accident. I’m like, what? Like, you know, like I wasn’t told that. And she was like, you have a hundred mile tow and a 200 mile toe. And I was like, wait, what? Like, I did not know that. And she was like, well, you should have. And cause that, cause when she said that, that really sent me because obviously like when I called AAA and I asked like, how far can I go? And they tell me at max a hundred miles, I don’t believe it. You know? And I think it to myself. Okay. So if I had a 201, like why, you know, when you know the lady and I had told me when I have to blow out, anyways, lady was not being helpful at all.
(24:53):
Cause I was asking her like, you know, like, you know what, like my options were. And she was like, well, like you just can’t get a toe like in this situation, because this is already like, you know, a singular incident that she received a tow from. And she just like, like the way she was talking to me too, she just like was not having it. And like, I don’t know if someone hurt her feelings that day or like if she was hungry, I don’t even know, but she wasn’t with it. And I was just like, okay, well, you know, I, I was polite and I said, thank you, even though she didn’t help me at all. But anyways, so at this point, mind you it’s like 1230 in the morning. It’s 1230 in the morning. I’m in the triple a parking lot in Charlotte.
(25:37):
So I’m still like an hour and a half drive away from Greensboro. And I’m thinking to myself, okay, well, like what does triple like open? Because obviously, and there weren’t no tire places open at like, you know, 9:00 PM. They ain’t no tire places don’t be open at like 12:30 AM. And I look and they’re like, we open at 7:30 AM. I’m like, holy guacamole. Like my first thought was literally, I’m about to, I’m just, I’m going to sleep in this parking lot in my car until seven 30 in the morning. Cause I didn’t know, like I’m like, I thought I could get towed home and I can’t. And mind you I’m texting my mother, of course she’s asleep. And like, I mean, as like I expected her to like, you know, she had a good world from Monday and I’m sorry. I keep saying, I keep like saying like, it’s the future, but this happened on Thursday.
(26:23):
Has to go to work on Friday and I’m just like, I really didn’t know what to do. So then I’m like, I’m texting you know, to my like friends from Atlanta and I’m like freaking out because I’m telling them like I’m going to sleep in the parking lot. I gotta to gotta yada and then, okay. Oh, let’s let’s rewind. Let’s rewind. I had actually texted guy that I knew that lived in Charlotte. Cause at first I was going to be like, oh, like, you know, doing the link or whatever, like a little quick, hi bye. Cause I hadn’t eaten by the way too. So I was hungry. Like I had eaten the meal cooking in the meal and so anyways, but he was like, oh, I’m going to be as like, he’s like, yeah, I live in Charlotte, but I’m going to graduation.
(27:03):
So I won’t be in Charlotte this weekend. I’m like, oh, okay. Yada, yada, yada. So as I’m sitting in the parking lot, thinking to myself, all right, usually think of skills, like put on your thinking cap. Who else do you know lives in Charlotte? So on that, like, I actually could be like, Hey, what’s up? So I think of two people and I had those two people up and I, you know, it’s a long shot. It’s 1230 in the morning and you know, people gotta go to work. So one of the park left people to text me back. Well they texted me back the next day, but obviously that was no help. So then another person texted me back and I literally, I told them my situation. I was like, Hey, I had car trouble, all this jazz, yada yada yada long story short. I’m like, are you in the city? Are you close by like, can I crash at your place? Because I could have slept in that parking lot. But like, you know, that would not have been the safest of decisions. I mean, I could have been safe for those seven hours who knows, but I was like, nah, I would like to decrease, you know the chances of anything happening. So basically and I hadn’t talked to this guy since senior year of college, trying to think about talking to him any more recently than that.
(28:14):
Like, like we would like to there’s stuff on Instagram, but it wasn’t like one-on-one conversation since I’m pretty sure I’ve seen her at college anyways. But yeah, so he calls me and tells situation. He’s like bad, you know, I’ll come get you. So in the meantime, cause it’s, it’s, he’s like ultimately like, you know, 30 minutes to get to yada yada yada. So I’m like, well I’m starving. So I go to the nearest wall, I get a lift from the nearest waffle house and I’m eating whatever, like waiting for him because he comes and gets me and it takes him back to his spot and we crash and like, I’m so thankful because you know, I was really like, whoa, like what is going on? Wake up and get a lift. Cause I’m like, you know, thank you so much. Like give me a place like, Hey, like I know you gonna go to work, go by being so thankful.
(28:53):
Like you literally, he said that there must’ve been a guardian Angelo because apparently like he’s normally already like so knocked out by then. And like he’s never up at that time. And he literally was about to like knock out, like when I hit him up. And so just somebody was looking out for him. But anyways, yeah, so I was just super appreciative. Like I, my heart was full and I was just thinking himself so much anyways, get up, take a left. And of course, you know, Lyft drivers like, oh, what’d you do in a town? Yada, yada, yada, I give him the whole shuffle I just gave y’all and the shortened version. Cause y’all know, I have a very hard time making things short. So anyways, go, AAA, I tell them like, you know, what happened, whatever, yada, yada, yada. And he’s like, all right, like, you know, I think we can get this knocked out in like, you know, 45 minutes, hour and a half.
(29:45):
I’m like, okay, bet. So I hopped online and I told my coworkers, I told her coworkers what was up a while ago. Cause I was like, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get a lot of in the clock in the morning. But I was as I was sitting in AAA, I was at AAA for four hours and I’m not even saying that to like, be like tripping. I’m just, you know, in my mind when I’m like, okay, 45 minutes to an hour, you know, like I could work with that. But obviously like I did not have an appointment. They didn’t have the tires and apparently not only cause I was thinking I’m going to replace the blowout tire and then buy another tire. So they could just put it in my trunk, but this is what happened. So he was like, okay, obviously you have replaced the blowout tire.
(30:27):
But then apparently my other front tire was like extremely, extremely like hella, hella low on treads. And he was like, I also recommend you replace that tire. And I’m like, okay. Yeah. Like, you know, let’s do what we gotta do. And I’m like, I’m exhausted because I mean obviously like the night before it was exhausting, cause it was stressful and I went to sleep late and then I got up early so I could be back in AAA and I still have like, you know, like I said, uncertainty makes me feel like, Ugh, you know? And also like I didn’t eat breakfast. I got like, hadn’t eaten anything off of that day. So I was like tired and I was thinking to myself, like I just wanna get home. Like it’s mother’s day weekend. I just thought it would be like, you know, boom, bam, bam, like five, six hours max I’m home.
(31:10):
And I’m like, oh my God, like what’s going to happen. And like, cause like once you hit our four, you know, you start to wonder like, Hmm. You know? And anyways after four hours he’s like, okay, Hey, you know, we’re good. Boom, bam, bam. I pay my loan money and I’m on my Merry way. And I get home. It’s like one 30. It wasn’t like that much traffic. There was like some traffic. And I was like, oh, what are y’all nillying lane? Are you going on lunch break? I don’t know. But anyways, yeah, so I got home like one 30 and I just felt so much relief. Like I was just like, oh and anyways, main point. Cause y’all know I could go on and on and on and on and on for days. But AAA also told me some other stuff that was wrong with my car and like y’all know my car.
(32:04):
I love stuff. I love stuff. So much. Slipper is 2002. So she is 17 years old. I intend to. Wow. Okay. It’s like, I laughed in my head cause I said this, like before I said it out loud, I was literally gonna be like, until the wheels fall off and I’m like, Ooh, but that’s actually not funny. Cause like the story anyways point is there’s like seven things I need to fix with her. And my mother is just like, you know, Keandre, like it’s time for a new car, but like, you know, I don’t want a car. No. And if I just fixed the thing, even though like sip was value is depreciated so much. I’m like, I’m just going to look in to see how much these cost and you know, just go from there. Cause the duty to play was like, so when you get back to Greensboro, you need to fix these things.
(32:45):
And I’m like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Even on my mind, I’m like, well that’s one of those that weekend. I didn’t like, I’m going, I don’t live in Greensboro anymore. I’m going to, you know, hang out in the weather and all that jazz. And I mean, as y’all know, like right now I’m literally driving back to Atlanta. I think the sign like I just saw, cause now I’m like, oh, let me be aware of signs. I think I saw a sign that said I’m like 125 miles from Atlanta. So I’m only like two hours like away from it’s funny when I’m like closer to like home home I say home and then I’m closer to like Atlanta home. I stay home. But anyways yeah. So y’all like, listen to your parents, listen to you, listen to people who give you advice. It’s in your best interest because obviously like what, when you’re in a car, you know, nothing, it’s not guaranteed that you’re going to get to destination B.
(33:34):
You know, it’s unfortunate to say that, but it is a realistic statement. You know, it’s not guaranteed. Like we would hope a hundred, you know, times out of a hundred that, you know, we would be able to, everyone out here will be able to afford to buy. That’s not the case. So I’m just thankful that like when the blowout happened that you know, I didn’t swear too much. I’m glad that like no one was around me so that, you know, there was no like accident or whatever. I’m thankful that I was able to, you know, get that total Charlotte. I’m so thankful that my friend you know, picked up and I was able to crash at his place and that I’m thankful that AAA was able to hook me up with new tires and that I was, you know, ultimately able to get to my final destination and see my mother and just, you know, how to really great weekend.
(34:22):
I, like I said, I’m going back to Atlanta right now and I really do like more now than ever want to get a real spare that I can put in my car. You know, God forbid like if I have a blow out again or if I get a flat through whatever measure and then look into fixing, you know, like order of highest priority looking into fixing those issues that AAA has said, what’s wrong with my car. Cause I know not all of y’all drive out here depending on like, you know, whatever your city is or whatever your license situation is. But I’m very dependent on my car. When I drive home, I use my car when I go to work, it’s my car. I grocery cars like it just, you know, I love step, but I’m very dependent upon her and my life.
(35:09):
I would have to alter my life if somehow I didn’t have her. And you know, like I said, even if I didn’t, then I got a new car that would that would be another, I’m trying to decrease that nowadays. But anyways, anyways, anyways moral of the story, just try to be as prepared as you can. Like I’m literally, I’m telling all those, cause I don’t want y’all to be like me, you know, and wherever you’re going and something happened and you know, you’re alone and you’re just freaking out, you know what I’m saying? Cause you want to be able to put yourself in the best situation as possible, you know? So just like, even if you don’t have a car, like what, in whatever sense, like you’re traveling, just being prepared because you know, as they say on big brother expect the unexpected, you know?
(36:00):
So gosh, it’s woo. It’s really something. And I mean, I’m driving back now and you know, like God forbid knock on wood. I knew that was not going. That’s why I wanted to make like little wooden key chains. Like, like always have little knock them on anyways point is be prepared to take the necessary for cautions. And when people give you advice about, you know, things that matter to your safety, your livelihood, you know, you should really, really take them. You know, seriously, like the is having, you only get one life, you know, unless anyways you have one life. So, you know, think about that. Cause when I told my, and my father what happened, like when I was actually in the city, cause I was I surprised my future step-mom if I was getting married in two months. So I’m like, Hey, like, you know I got my, my step-mom’s and stuff for mother’s day and I surprised her or whatever.
(36:59):
And anyways he was like, you know, like we said, XYZ about your car. Cause you know, you can’t mess around with that. Cause like, you know, go sideways and then like, you know, what’s up. So anyways long story short, really long story. I don’t know how long I’ve been talking to y’all if y’all haven’t been listening. Thank you. Even if you fast forward still. Thank you. Because y’all know I find it very hard when I start rolling and I’m just like rolling, rolling, rolling. Like a rolling stop anyways. Yeah, take care of yourself. Take care of each other, you know, think about what is in your best interests. Be prepared to put your health and your safety first. And that’s that’s, that’s my takeaway. You know, stay safe. Hope everyone out here had a good mother’s day weekend and just, you know, spent it with your family or loved ones. And until next time, thank you for listening to this episode of Tea With Kea.
